History

The ASTYM system of treatment was developed in 1996 through clinical, scientific, and outcomes research led by Tomas L. Sevier, MD. Since then, physical therapists have been using the ASTYM (pronounced A-stim) system of therapy to address problems such as scaring, fibrosis, and degeneration that occur in soft tissue. These problems may develop as a result of trauma, surgery or overuse.

How it works and common injuries treated with ASTYM

ASTYM treatment reduces scar tissue allowing patients to regain movement, stay active, and heal faster. Certified ASTYM Physios use manual instruments along the surface of the skin to locate and treat problem areas.
